Inside AT THE BEAUTY BAR: A Look Inside Our Caulfield South Studio

When clients walk into our studio for the first time, the most common reaction is a pause.

It is not what they were expecting.

There is no reception desk. No fluorescent lighting. No menu of injectable add-ons trying to upsell from the wall. It is quiet. The lighting is warm. The air smells faintly of bergamot and something herbal. And there is one therapist - me - waiting to greet you.

This is by design.

The idea: a studio, not a clinic

I opened AT THE BEAUTY BAR because I was tired of two things.

First, the medi-spa model. Bright lights, drip-style injectable upsells, the pressure to do something to your face every visit. I trained in clinical skincare to deliver results, not to push procedures. That model was making clients feel anxious about ageing, not empowered by skincare.

Second, the budget chain salon model. Rushed appointments, no skin analysis, the same generic facial regardless of your concerns. Clients leaving with skin that looks fresh for a day and then nothing for a month.

So we built the in-between. A boutique, women-only space that takes skin science seriously but treats every appointment like a private ritual.

The space

The studio sits at 25 Teak Street in Caulfield South. Single treatment room. Soft natural light from a side window. A heated bed. A boutique Murad shelf curated to the products we genuinely believe in.

Booking is online through our calendar. Treatments range from 45 minutes (The Glow Facial, $125) to 90 minutes (The Signature Facial, $265). We have founding-client pricing for new clients in our first year.
